Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C.) is a leading retail chain in Qatar. It operates supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores, offering groceries, consumer goods, and other everyday products. Al Meera currently manages more than 65 stores across Qatar and also has a subsidiary in the Sultanate of Oman.

almeera was established in 2005 as part of Qatar’s initiative to modernize its consumer cooperatives. The company became publicly listed a few years later as it held its initial public offering and listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) on 28 October 2009. At the time of listing, almeera shares had a nominal value of QAR 10 per share (later adjusted to QAR 1 per share via a stock split in 2019). This marked almeera’s transition into a public Qatari shareholding company (Q.P.S.C.), open to trading by investors.

almeera's financial year is the calendar year running from January 1 to December 31 each year. As a Qatar Exchange listed company, almeera releases financial results on a quarterly basis.

almeera's financial statements are prepared according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which is the standard accounting framework for companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange.

almeera’s shares are listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange. The company’s ticker symbol is “MERS”. Investors can find almeera’s stock quote, trading data, and disclosures on the QSE website under this symbol. The International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) for Al Meera’s stock is QA000A0YDSW8.

Buying or selling almeera stock can be done through any licensed broker that operates on the Qatar Stock Exchange. To trade, you’ll need to open a trading account with a brokerage in Qatar, then place an order to purchase or sell shares (ticker “MERS”). The transactions will be executed during QSE trading hours.

almeera currently has 206 million ordinary shares outstanding. The nominal value of each share is QAR 1.00, making the company’s paid-up share capital QAR 206 million in total. This share count increased from 20 million shares to 200 million shares in 2019 due to a 10:1 stock split, which reduced the nominal value from QAR 10 to QAR 1 per share and multiplied the share count by ten.
